THIRD POINT- ILM AND ZIKR

Ilm means Knowledge- especially knowledge about Deen-I-Islam. The source of Ilm is the Holy Quran and Hadith of Rasulullah (S.A.S).

The aim of ilm is to know the commands of Allah subhanahu Ta’ala spending for our 24 hours daily lives and to obey the same in the Tarika (method) of Rasulullah (S.A.S). So that everybody may be successful in Duniya and Akhirat.

Useful Ilm
Ilm is of two kinds, one which remains on the tongue only and does not affect the heart. It would be a cause for questioning on the Day of kiyamat. The other which penetrates into the heart, revives the spiritual spirit, purify hearts and enlighten the brain that is indeed useful Ilm.

Benifits / Virtues of Ilm.

According to one Hadith, “Learning Ilm just for the pleasure of Allah is a proof of the fear of Allah, travelling in search of it is E-badat, memorising it is like glorifying Allah, making research in it is like Jihad, reading it is like and charity teaching it to one’s member of family, promotes nearness to Allah. Ilm enables one to distinguish right and wrong, Halal and Haram, it is the road sign indicating the way to Zannat.

·        Rasulullah (S.A.S) says: “Allah eases the way to Zannat for one who traverses some distance to seek Ilm.
·        The Angles spread their wings under his feet and all things in heavens and earth (even fish in water) pray for his forgiveness, if he dies, he becomes a martyr.
How to learn

We can learn Ilm by two ways:

a)     Fadail-e-Ilm by sitting in Ta’lim Halka at Masjid (for male and at home both male and female).
b)    Masa-il-I-Ilm from the Ulema Kiram.

ZIKR

Zikr is the remembrance of Allah Jalla Sanuhu. It is of two kinds: One is done by word of mouth and other is done by heart in the form of deep meditation and contemplation. The aim of Zikr is to remember Allah Tabarak Ta’ala all the times so that our hearts are cleaned of the marks of sins and filled with fear and love of Allah Rabbul Aalameen.

a.     Zikr-I-Akbar is                              “Laa-i-laha illallahu”
b.     Afdalul Zikr is tilwati-Quaran. and
c.      Evening-Morning Zikr is the aamal of three Tashbih:
1. سبحان الله – الحمد لله- و لا اله الا الله الله اكبر
(Subhanallahi, Alhamdulillahi, wa Laa-i-laha illallah, Allahu Akbar)
2.   Any Darud Sharif.
3.   Any Istigfar.

Benefits of Zikr:

Rasulullah (S.A.S) says ; that for everything there is a purifier or cleanser, The Zikr of Almighty Allah cleanses and purifies the heart and provides the best protection against retribution in the hereafter.
  •  Zikr in heart / Meditation for one moment is better than doing Ebadat for seventy years.
  • The reward of the Zikr of Allah is seven hundred times more than that for spending wealth in the path of Allah.
  • Anybody who keeps his tongue moist by doing Zikr, he will enter into Zannat
  • If a person has a lot of wealth and distributes it amongst the needy, while another person is only busy with the Zikr of Allah, the latter, who is engaged in Zikr, is the better of the two.
  • Rasulullah (S.A.S) narrates : An announcer will call out on the Day of Judgment “where are the wise ones?”
People will enquire “who are ments by the wise ones?”
The reply will be, “they are those who always remembered Allah, whether sitting, standing or reclining and pondered over the creation of the Heavens and Earth  and would say, “O Allah ! Thou hast not created all these in vain. We glorify thee save us from the fire of Zahannam.”
Thereafter a flag will appear for them, and they will follow this flag and will be told to inter Zannat and stay forever.

How to achieve

1)    We have to do Zikr of “Laa-i-laha-illallah” always.
2)    Do tilwat-i-Quaran every day one part (for Hafiz 3 part).
3)    Do Aa’mal of 3 tashbih in the morning and in the evening regularly in heart.
4)    Reciting masnun du’aa such as eating, sleeping and so on.
5)    To give Dawa about the aim of Zikr, benifits of Zikr etc.
6)    To think of the creation of Allah
